Dub it will be
I will definitely be producing varieties of dub. I've been listening to old school dub for months, I loved Massive Attack for years (including Massive Attack vs the Mad Professor) and got into deep, minimal music a few years back.
As my constant tweets yesterday noted, I downloaded & listened to a lot of good music yesterday, all shades of dub. What blew me away:
- Stephen Hitchell's Resident Advisor 153 mix
- Both Jambassa releases on A Quiet Bump (thanks to @Volfoniq for the recommendation)
- The Cosmic Ryoku 2 release on LCL
- Mat's A Light in the Abyss on Deepindub
So I need to figure out the delay, which is like finding an emulation or replica of Roland's Space Echo. Maybe Fruity's Delay Bank will do the trick, or the free Synthmaker vstfx Rastabox - or a commercial vst like Audio Damage's Dubstation or Fabfilter's Timeless. Let the experimentation begin
