Earlier this summer, I was totally set on Zebra.  It was modular, could do a wide range of sounds, and there were a lot of great presets showing it off.

But I'm glad budgetary restraint kicked in as there were 2 hitches:

Here are the contenders for my main synth.  I thought I'd be able to get some opinions from the IDM Forums and whittle it down to 3, but where's the fun in that?

Synth shopping part I: what I'm looking for

Having used cracks in my previous incarnation, my choice of synths was vast.  I was on synth crack and if there was something new available, I had to have it, even though I didn't use them all.  The ones I did use frequently were Albino, Imposcar and Vanguard.  At least those are the 3 that easily come to mind.  I've let go long enough to have it all be a hazy memory.
